My research interests focus on thermophysical properties of fluids, including
applied thermodynamics and apparatus/sensors development, fundamental metrology
and numerical modelling of combustion- and heat-transfer processes. Topics
include:
•Carbon Capture and Storage - solubility and pH of CO2 in brines under reservoir
conditions. Next Generation Carbon technology: Physical separation on syngas.
•Measurement of thermodynamic and transport properties of liquid fuels.
•Metrology - redefinition of the Kelvin and development of new humidity
standards.
•Finite element analysis applied to power plant combustion processes with
coal/biomass co-firing
